Girl Coloring

Children with fine motor delays have difficulty coordinating movements for fine motor tasks.

Occupational therapy works to strengthen fine motors skills for activities like stacking, coloring, pinching, fasening clothing, etc.

Some hallmark characteristics of poor fine motor skills are:

- Poor utensil use

- Unable to stack blocks

- Difficulty with buttons, snaps, zippers

- Uninterested in coloring/writing

Have a child that only eats chicken nuggets and won't touch their veggies? Many toddlers ad children today struggle with picky eating. Parents often struggle with introducing new foods and are left defeated.

Occupational therapy for picky eaters works on building a strong positive relationship with food. We work closely with families to create a patient specific plan of care to incoorporate new foods in order for our patients to have a well-balanced diet.

Emotion regulation is often a skill that needs to be taught to our younger children.

Occupational Therapy will help teach children to recognize their emotions in certain situations and how to regulate/validate those emotions in a positive way.

Most of our children on the Autistic Specturm have difficulty regulating their sensory system and often don't have the tools to regulate themselves effectively.

Occupational Therapy does the detective work to come up with a specialized sensory plan for your child in order to get them to their optimal learning state.
